2018 June 23 - Northwest Meeting at the Myles Gilmer Lumber Company
in Portland, Oregon.
by Alan B. Curtis, Trustee, NW Chapter IWCS
The NW Chapter of IWCS met one time during this past year. On June 23 we gathered at the Myles Gilmer Lumber Company in Portland, Oregon. Myles told us about his business which he has owned for 30 years. It is now one of the largest such businesses in the country. We visited his 3 large warehouses and were impressed with the large variety of woods he stocked.
There were 12 of us members present. We held a short business meeting. I asked for a volunteer to assume the duties of NW Chapter Trustee, since my term has expired. No one expressed any interest. Our chapter treasurer reported that we had about $1000. in our bank account. I suggested that since we didn't have any upcoming expenses, that we send $500. to our national treasurer to include in their budget. This was approved by those attending.
We all agreed that our gathering was very informative and worthwhile.
