I am pleased to advise all members that the Board of Trustees has acknowledged the appointment of Mark Peet and Dennis Wilson (term from now until October 2029) by Gary Green (Chair of the Investment Committee) as members of the Investment Committee. The Committee members are Gary Green (Chair), Mark Duff (Immediate Past President), Patti Dickherber (Treasurer), Mark Peet and Dennis Wilson.
Jim Dominick and his team are working on the draft Five-Year Business Plan and sought feedback on identifying the key issues for our Society. The questionnaire was available on the website for member feedback; however, the response level has been extremely disappointing. Only a few members took the opportunity to have their say on how the Society can adapt to current and future needs.
The Advertising of Wood Samples in WoW policy document was adopted by the Board of Trustees in late July. The policy basically allows for two pages of each issue of WoW to be dedicated to the detailed listing of samples for sale by members. Many thanks to the members who helped in the development of this policy. The policy is available on our website for members information.
All members now have the opportunity to view Board of Trustee Meetings through a link posted on our website. Just go to the ‘Home’ page of our website, scroll down to ‘Links’ and find the box labelled ‘John Tillack is inviting you….’. Just copy the join instruction and paste it into your search engine to join the meeting. Guests can observe the operations of the Board but will require the approval of the Chair/Board to speak. The agenda and supporting documents are also available through this link.
I am intending to be at the 80th anniversary meeting in Le Grange, Texas, USA in April 2027 and look forward to socialising over a red or two with as many members as possible.
